I took the train into Manhattan on Martin Luther King day. I hadn’t realized it would be so cold and that the sidewalks would be so icy and treacherous. I went to lower Manhattan to see a friend and to go to a camera store. The streets were quiet since the stock market was closed. The only people around were tourists who had come to see the World Trade Center site. They must have been disappointed because right now, there is really nothing to see. I took some pictures since the light was so uncannily clear. Afterwards, I went to a Starbucks on lower Broadway for a coffee to warm up. It was filled with tourists who were looking at street and subway maps, trying to figure out how to get to wherever it was they were going.
